Why Go Greek?
Going Greek is a great way to find a home away from home and make lifelong friends, but it's more than just wearing letters. Along with the social events and different activities it also brings a lot of opportunities that are extremely beneficial such as leadership, financial responsibilities, academic achievements, social growth, and much more.
Every year we participate in formal and informal recruitment. We are always looking for girls to add to our family of amazing sisters. Formal recruitment is held in fall and informal recruitment is in the spring. We are always more than welcome to meeting potential new members since we do recruitment informally as well. If you are at all interested fall recruitment, visit the EIU Greek Life page and sign up today!!!

Why Go AST?
Want to create friendships that will last a lifetime? Looking for that home away from home? Among the many diverse girls that our sorority has we can each individually say that our sisterhood is what makes us stand out. The supportive, fun, caring, and friendly group of girls that makes up Alpha Sigma Tau is what keeps us strong. No matter what we are always there for each other through the good and the bad. We are proud to wear our letters wherever we may be and provide an organization or in our words "family" unlike any other. The various opportunities that we provide will help you get ready for the real world and understand what it is like to take on some major responsibilities.
Hazing Policy
Alpha Sigma Tau does not prohibit any form of hazing and neither does Eastern Illinois University. The members of AST do not participate in any activities that constitutes hazing. We do not believe in it and do not believe in what a sisterhood should be based upon. Our new members are treated with respect and we make sure to make them feel comfortable so that they will feel welcome within our sorority.
